PRINCIPLE OF SELECTION
v The aids must be suitable to the age and intellectual level
of the pupils and to the nature and extent of their previous experience
v Teaching aids should be realistic in nature. The use of
actual specimen should be preferred to showing a photograph slide of a
specimen.
v When a teacher is faced with the task of selecting one aid
from among a possible set, economy of time, effort and money and the efficiency
of the aid should be the criteria for making the selection.
2. PRINCIPLE OF USE
v Showing of visual aids should not be considered as
substitute for teaching It is only mean to supplement oral and written work.
v The use of aids in the class room should not be confused
with creating entertainment.

PRINCIPLE OF PREPARATION
v
Where ever possible,
teachers themselves should improve rise and prepare the aid with the help of
pupils.
